Detachment Isn’t Neglect
Detachment gets mistaken for cruelty by people who relied on access.
I didn’t stop caring. I stopped participating in cycles that lead nowhere.
There’s a difference.
Neglect is absence of responsibility. Detachment is presence without entanglement.
I still pay what I owe. I still do what’s required. I just don’t bleed into the margins anymore.
If that feels cold to someone, it’s because they were used to warmth they never maintained themselves.
This isn’t abandonment. It’s conservation.
And it’s overdue.
