The Will to Resist

Book of Boris — Chapter XIII: End of Route (Undertale)

Verse 1 (2015): "Went Genocide Run first time and would do it again! 11/10. Seriously though the game is AWESOME and the soundtrack is undeniably GOOD!"

Verse 2 (2025 Update): I went Genocide Route on my first run—not by accident, but by choice. I didn’t stumble. I didn’t flinch. I made the call.

Verse 3: The deeper I went, the more I felt it. This wasn’t about XP or weapons. It was about intent—and Undertale let me show mine.

Verse 4: The world got quieter. The music shifted from whimsical to unnerving. Friends turned into obstacles. And every time the game begged me to stop… I didn’t.

Verse 5: Then came Flowey. The puppet master. The grinning weed who toyed with everyone else’s lives. He thought he could manipulate me. But by then, I wasn’t the player anymore. Chara had arrived.

Verse 6: When Flowey begged for mercy? I gave him the only thing mercy fears—a final goodbye.

Verse 7: Even Flowey begged. And Chara smiled. The game shut itself off. No fanfare. No peace. Just silence.

Verse 8: Mercy was offered once. Mercy was ignored. So I carved truth into the code, and watched the flowers wilt.
