Book of Boris — Chapter XLIV: The Rejected Rise
I love my sister. I’ll help her while she’s here. But I refuse to be buried under the same house that’s been breaking us since the beginning.
This house was never peace — it was an anchor dressed up as obligation. Every time something breaks, I’m the one expected to patch it. Every time a cost comes due, it lands in my lap. And it’s always wrapped in that same passive-aggressive silence, as if my ability to fix things is infinite.
But here’s the truth: if she passes, fuck that house.
I won’t chain my life to walls that were built from guilt. I won’t live out a sentence disguised as “family duty.” Legacy isn’t meant to be a prison, and love doesn’t mean inheriting someone else’s slow collapse.
So I’ll stand, I’ll hold, I’ll carry for as long as she breathes beside me. But the second she’s gone? That house can crumble. My rise is not built on someone else’s ruin.
