The Will to Resist

Book of Boris — Chapter XLV: The Missed Bus Doctrine

Verse 1: He said, “Have a blessed day.” But his words were perfume sprayed on rot— a hollow kindness masking the cost of his own distraction. I stood there, breath steady, watching the bus I needed roll away.

Verse 2: Anger begged to be fed. But silence tasted better. So I starved the moment, and let him feel the weight of what he’d wasted.

Verse 3: Not every loss deserves rage. Some only deserve witness. And in that minute between buses, I realized—I’d rather miss rides than lose my composure.

Post-Verse Addendum — The Recalibration: Frustration tried to stay, but I opened Google Maps and found grace in the timing. Still made it to work. Still grabbed Taco Cabana. Still kept my peace intact.

The world tried to throw me off rhythm— I adjusted the beat instead.
