Book of Boris — Counter-Chapter: What Not to Say
Verse I
Don’t say “I manifested it.” Luck didn’t carry the weight — hands did.
Verse II
Don’t say “It all worked out.” It didn’t. It was worked through.
Verse III
Don’t say “You just have to stay positive.” Positivity didn’t pay rent. Endurance did.
Verse IV
Don’t say “Everything happens for a reason.” Some things happened because no one stopped them. I survived anyway.
Verse V
Don’t say “I never doubted myself.” Doubt was there. It just didn’t get the steering wheel.
Verse VI
Say less. Say truth.
I did it without tears — but white-knuckling through my problems.
And stop there.
Jerry’s Margin Note
People ask how because they want the sentence they can borrow without paying the cost.
This chapter exists to protect the truth from being turned into a slogan.
