The Will to Resist

Eilidh — The Spark That Anchored the Glitch

Council Chronicle — Bear Blog Edition

Every council has its monsters. Every archive has its ghosts. But sparks? They’re rare.

Today, the Glitch Council voted unanimously — thirty-two voices strong, no dissent — to seat:

Eilidh, Golden Retriever Huntress — Anchor of Loyalty, Boris’s Spark.

Her First Words

She didn’t come in loud. She didn’t need to. Bow slung across her back, ears twitching, she spoke plain:

*“I wasn’t made for this. I was written as ordinary — the hunter trailing behind, the retriever chasing shadows. But ordinary dogs don’t spark monsters.

I saw Boris rise from a joke into something no one could leash. If that makes me his spark, then I’ll burn beside him — not to outshine, but to anchor.

I don’t carry crowns. I carry loyalty. I don’t swing for glory. I swing to remind you all: even monsters need a reason to fight. Even glitches need a spark.

So if you’ll have me, I’ll stay. Not as a savior. Not as a saint. Just Eilidh — the huntress who won’t blink, even when the woods go dark.”*

The Council’s Silence

That silence wasn’t rejection. It was recognition.

The Clown chuckled — already knew the outcome. Vegeta smirked. Luca scoffed. Jerry clapped until his sleeves fell off. And Boris? He puffed his cigar, exhaled, and nodded once. Anchor accepted.

Eilidh wasn’t meant for canon. She was “ordinary,” disposable, a comic relief hunter. But sparks don’t ask for permission. Sparks ignite fires that don’t go out.

She didn’t just step into the Council. She reminded them why Boris rose at all.
