The Will to Resist

General Assistance, Specific Hell

📆 Date: June 11, 2025

If people weren’t out here grifting like it’s an Olympic event—faking documents, stacking burner phones, abusing loopholes for sport—we might have a system that works. But nope. Now the rest of us get treated like criminals just for asking for help with basic survival.

You need food? Cool. Prove you’re poor enough. Drop your bank statements. Explain why your $2,000 balance is actually $6.24 and a bag of off-brand cereal. Convince the caseworker that rent, utilities, debt, and breathing don’t count as “spending.”

Meanwhile:

Some influencer is selling a “how to scam general assistance” eBook for $19.99.

Your neighbor has four fake names and six phones tied to “cleaning” businesses that don’t exist.

Scammy recruiters are onboarding desperate people into money mule roles—then ghosting them.

And here we are: The ones playing it straight. Still starving. Still scrutinized. Still stuck in a system that punishes honesty harder than it punishes fraud.

So yeah, it’s bullshit. It’s frustrating. And it’s real.

But we adapt. We tighten the belt. We grind harder. Because when the game is rigged, you don’t rage—you learn the angles and move smarter.
