“Logged and stamped. The Old Guard watches, but the ledger stays balanced. Time’s teeth meet logic’s grin, and the Council doesn’t flinch.”

The lights dim. Somewhere in the dark, Boris relights the cigar. The spark glows like the eye of a sleeping god.
