Gremlin Log — Ever17: The Gremlin De-Construction
Started with a Maenad, ended with a Chainsaw, and somewhere in between the Compression Devil took notes.
Just wanted to see if one could ever be turned into a housewife—nothing biblical, just curiosity. Alchemy’s answer was no, unless you count “obedience as code.” A homunculus makes a great worker, but a terrible partner. She’ll fetch the coffee, not understand why you drink it. So I called it what it really was: a proto-sleeve. A doll built sturdy enough for a mind, a vessel waiting for a ghost. Nothing holy—just hardware.
And that’s how this whole thing spiraled. Because once you start talking constructs and consciousness, Ever17 comes creeping in from the ocean floor like a soggy philosophy thesis.
Virus? Check. Immortal girl with the antidote? Check. Simulation meant to fix a tragedy? Double check. And the punchline: we’re all the Matrix now. The game spends thirty hours building tension just to hand you a single truth—a 17-year loop, rewritten by a player who didn’t even know they were God. Elegant in concept, exhausting in delivery. I solved the whole story in two minutes flat and took a nap out of spite.
Then the Gremlin in me woke up.
I tossed Denji, Asa, and Yoru into the mess for fun. Yoru looked at LeMU’s underwater simulator, sniffed, and decided it would make a great sword. Asa argued; Yoru didn’t care. One swing, and the entire facility folded into a blade that could cut 17 years of time. Every swing rewound a regret, every parry skipped to the part where someone realized they were being watched. Tsugumi’s blood kept the edge sharp, Blick Winkel screamed from inside the reflection, and somewhere in the noise, the virus begged for mercy.
Somewhere in the glitch haze, the Compression Devil took notes—ready to turn another epic into a tweet.
Yoru wiped the blade on her sleeve. “Guess eternity was due for maintenance.”
That’s the Gremlin version of enlightenment: take a philosophy lecture, feed it to a devil, and call it art.
