🎭 Gremlin Resistas - "What if, Batman...?" x Jerry's Marginalia
Alt-Timeline Gotham: Bruce Wayne Chooses Peace
Bruce waits for Joker at Arkham… not with fists — with paperwork.
“No traps. No lectures. Here’s a $1,000,000 bond, a brownstone, and a monthly stipend. Therapy is prepaid. No conditions except: don’t terrorize the city.”
Joker blinks.
Once. Twice.
“…Bats. Buddy. This feels illegal.”
Bruce shrugs.
“So is unresolved trauma.”
What happens next (because this is important)
- Joker doesn’t know how to perform without resistance
- Chaos needs an audience
- Batman just turned the lights off and went home
Joker:
- tries one joke → no reaction
- tries menace → NDA
- tries symbolism → HOA violation
Eventually he just… runs out of bit.
The truly cursed outcome
Joker becomes:
- weirdly stable
- deeply bored
- starts painting
- accidentally funny at dinner parties
His comedy shifts from mass murder to absurdist stand-up.
“Y’know what’s funny? Nobody ever funded my healing arc before.”
Gotham crime drops 40%. Not because Bruce punched harder — because the narrative starved.
🦝 Jerry’s Marginalia — Pop Nonsense Addendum
“You Can’t Fight Someone Who’s Been Given Closure”
Most villains aren’t stopped by force. They’re stopped by nothing left to prove.
Take away the grudge, and half the monologue evaporates.
