And now: Sunday.

No mystery remains. Only residue.

Gremlin checks internal status.

Gremlin (after system update): “…but fuck it. Whatever.”

This is not surrender.

This is acceptance without consent.

Gremlin clocks in.

Performs assigned tasks. Does not volunteer. Does not optimize. Does not explain policies to people paid more to ignore them.

Valdemort exists nearby. Emits faint chest-beating static.

Gremlin does not register it.

Object permanence disabled.

Time advances. Tasks complete. Nothing catches fire.

Gremlin clocks out on schedule. Leaves without farewell. Declines post-shift processing.

Loop terminates here.

Not permanently. Just for now.
