The Will to Resist

🧨 Gremlin Resitas - Visual Metaphor Variants

1️⃣ The Factory Line Variant

The Gremlin tours a factory.

A conveyor belt moves too fast. Workers keep grabbing parts, missing fingers, blaming management, blaming capitalism, blaming vibes.

Someone yells, “HELP US SLOW IT DOWN!”

The Gremlin looks at the emergency stop button.

It’s covered in glass. Labeled AUTHORIZED USE ONLY.

He steps back.

Because if the system works as intended, it doesn’t need him reaching across the belt.

And if it doesn’t— he’s not sticking his hands in the gears to prove it.

The belt keeps moving. The system logs another “unexpected outcome.”

The Gremlin clocks out without clocking in.

2️⃣ The Hamster Wheel Variant

Everyone is running. Posting about running. Filming themselves running.

“KEEP MOVING OR IT COLLAPSES,” they shout.

The Gremlin taps the wheel.

It’s not powering anything. It’s just spinning.

He steps off.

The wheel keeps turning anyway. Because it was never about progress— it was about participation optics.

They ask why he quit.

He didn’t quit. He just stopped mistaking motion for direction.

3️⃣ The Meat Grinder Variant

There’s a line. There’s a grinder. There’s a sign that says “FORWARD = PURPOSE.”

People jump in willingly.

When the screams start, someone asks the Gremlin, “Aren’t you going to stop it?”

The Gremlin points at the sign.

“If the system works as intended,” he says, “then it doesn’t need me.”

The grinder keeps grinding. HR calls it “throughput.”

The Gremlin keeps walking.
