Some people write about justice. Some people wait for it. And some people make sure the invoice clears.
Most systems don’t fail loudly. They fail politely.
They let harm happen, document the aftermath, and hope time smooths the edges. Observers call it unfortunate. Writers call it a story. Everyone waits for the universe to do the math.
But the universe doesn’t keep books. People do.
Justice doesn’t arrive because it’s deserved. It arrives because someone stayed precise, kept receipts, and didn’t let the noise rewrite the numbers.
That’s why barking never works. Barking is emotion without leverage. Waiting is faith without enforcement.
Billing is different.
Billing is quiet. Billing is patient. Billing assumes the truth will hold long enough for the total to be calculated.
When the correction finally comes, it doesn’t feel dramatic. It feels inevitable.
