The Will to Resist

📝 Jerry’s Marginalia — Observed, Not Performed

People stand outside the glass, asking why the game isn’t louder. Why it doesn’t explain itself better. Why it doesn’t react when they poke it.

But the game isn’t performing for the camera.

It’s playing out its day— routine dungeons, familiar faces, small comforts— like a classroom after hours where the lights stay on because someone still needs the room.

The reviewers press their faces to the window, looking for challenge spikes, spectacle, justification. They want the game to turn around and acknowledge them.

It doesn’t.

Because the camera isn’t there to impress the crowd. It’s there to watch who understands that some games are meant to be inhabited, not interrogated.

If you’re bored, it’s not failing. You’re just outside— asking a quiet room why it won’t start shouting.
