The Will to Resist

Jerry's Marginalia — Stay in Your Lane

There is a strange temptation during chaos to believe that every problem has become your problem.

It hasn't.

Helping someone and becoming responsible for someone are two different things.

If a person wants peace, lend a hand if you safely can.

If a person wants conflict, understand that you may simply become the next target.

I offered the simplest solution I knew:

"You could just move."

The answer wasn't a solution.

It was an admission that suffering itself had become part of the objective.

That was the moment I realized this was no longer a puzzle to solve.

It was a storm to avoid.

Arthur doesn't defeat every Red Arremer by charging forward.

Sometimes he loses the armor, remembers where the next chest is, and keeps walking.

My next armor chest isn't winning an argument.

It's waking up tomorrow.

Going to work.

Doing my job.

Coming home.

Peace isn't always found by defeating the dragon.

Sometimes it's found by refusing the invitation to become one.

Archivist's Note:

Haus Morgenrot exists in more than one building. Whether at work or at home, Boris kept arriving at the same lesson: know where your responsibility ends, protect your peace, and keep moving toward the quieter life you're building—one ordinary day at a time.
