Jerry’s Marginalia — The Door Isn’t Locked
Not every story ends with a handshake. Not every wound demands a diagnosis.
What matters is this:
After the control ends, choice returns.
If Sonic the Hedgehog could stand beside Miles "Tails" Prower long enough for belief to take root, then it’s not unreasonable to say Tails could one day stand beside Kitsunami the Fennec—not to fix him, not to save him, but to exist in the same space without obligation.
Canon doesn’t promise friendship. It doesn’t promise healing. It doesn’t promise resolution.
It promises room.
Room for silence. Room for a bad joke that lands anyway. Room for neutrality that isn’t failure.
As for Surge the Tenrec—let her be Surge. Heroes don’t need permission, and she’s never waited for it.
Some doors aren’t meant to be kicked open. They’re left unlocked on purpose.
And that’s where this one stays.
