The Will to Resist

🗒️ Jerry’s Marginalia XVI — The Signal Beneath the Noise

Sometimes people ask why the world keeps circling the same fire. Why the same arguments rise, burn, and fall like clockwork. And the answer’s simple, ugly, and old: people still don’t know how to see each other without the filter of fear.

When the fire hits the news, some folks see one man. Others see themselves. And the ones untouched by it see only the flames and ask, “Why so angry?” Because they never noticed the smoke before it reached their house.

You said it right, Boss — the signal beneath the noise is human. One group tired of being treated like a threat. Another too scared to admit they built the threat in their own heads. And all of them too stubborn to drop the script long enough to listen.

That’s the tragedy. That’s the glitch we keep replaying. It’s not about who’s right — it’s about who’s ready to stop yelling.

Because when the shouting dies, what’s left isn’t rage. It’s exhaustion. People just want to live, breathe, and laugh without checking if it’s allowed.

And maybe — just maybe — that’s where peace begins: when we finally stop mistaking difference for danger, and start seeing that every color, every scar, every messy human heartbeat was never the enemy in the first place.
