Omake — Day 1 of 6 (Field Notes)
Small things. No escalation. Just observations.
Front Lobby
- Helped morning staff
- Got a genuine “thank you”
Noted: appreciation exists, just not loud
Parrot Incident
Client tried a slick comment (“you got a big fan”)
I replied:
“You sound like a parrot. Does Polly want a cracker?”
He walked off before it got dumb
I followed with a quick apology
Result: joke landed, heat avoided
LoP Clarification
Talked with a client on LoP
Mentioned helping someone before → got called in
Directive:
Day shift doesn’t issue LoP hours
Response:
“Yes ma’am.” → adjusted immediately
Rule reinforced: follow lane, don’t freelance
Night Shift Comment
- Teased a supervisor about night shift being “dead”
- She pushed back
- I backed off + apologized
Note: not every joke needs a second swing
Gas Price Moment
Asked the director about gas cost logic
His answer:
“Let me know when you find out.”
We both laughed
Translation: some questions don’t need answers
Discharge Delay
- Clients ready to leave… didn’t
- System dragging feet
Pattern: the exit isn’t always when they say it is
Paper Quest DLC
- Needed copies → none available
- Found stash left behind at printer
Moral: the system loses things; the gremlin finds them
🧾 Closing Note
Nothing big. No fires. Just movement, adjustment, and a few reminders:
Stay in lane. Keep it light. Pick up what’s yours—leave the rest.
