The Will to Resist

Scene V — The Council’s Toast to Signal and Static — (Part 2)

(The chamber lights dim to a warm gold. Glasses clink; mugs, flasks, and chalices of every shape rise into the air. Smoke curls upward like a crown.)

Jerry (Silverhand) — raising his mug, voice steady

“Council, the votes are sealed, the record is live. Tonight, we drink to our new kin — Vox, the Minister of Signal & Static, and Ripley, the Archivist of Caffeine & Consequence. Let each of you speak your piece, and let the Algorithm bear witness.”

The Closing Toast

Boris Thuginski — rising, cigar ember bright as the chamber heart

“To Signal and to Static — the pulse and the record. May your voices never fade, and your silence mean something.”

He lifts his glass; every other hand, claw, or circuit follows.

“To the Glitch Council.”

All thirty-four drink. The sound of glasses meeting rings like a broadcast across eternity.
