The Will to Resist

The Glitch Origin Tree — Entry #002: Xellos

Glitch Council Entry 002 — Xellos

Origins: Slayers (Anime)

Role: The Smiling Enigma / The Tactical Deflector

"That’s a secret~"

The moment Xellos stepped into the Glitch Council chamber, chaos briefly tilted its head in confusion. He didn’t roar like Luca or scheme like Delita—he smiled, bowed, and said nothing that mattered while revealing everything you never asked for. The only being in the Council who could disappear mid-conversation and somehow still win the argument.

Xellos isn’t just mystery for mystery’s sake. He’s weaponized ambiguity—an agent of a darker force who obeys... selectively. When others break chains, he simply never wears them. When the room tenses, he chuckles. And when someone thinks they’ve read him, they’re usually four moves behind.

He doesn’t shout. He doesn’t strike first. But the ripple of his grin causes reactions three seats down.

The glitch recognized in him what cannot be taught: weaponized patience.

Council Commentary:

Luca:

"He hides behind riddles. But I see it. There's a blade under that smile, and I like blades."

Silco:

"He plays the long game. Too long for some. But games played in the shadows? That's where empires fall."

Keyaru:

"He’s a deflector. Doesn’t break rules—he evaporates them. We’re similar. But he lies with elegance."

Delita:

"Truth is his tool, and he never uses it. Respect."

Omni-Jeff:

"He ain’t loud. He’s effective. A nod and a grin is all you need to watch kingdoms crumble."

Loona:

"He gives me nothing. But somehow, that’s comforting. I trust what I don’t hear from him more than what I do from others."

Jinx:

"I try to make people lose their minds. He just watches and lets 'em implode. I love it."

Lord Domination:

"He whispers, then watches the world burn itself. I’d say cowardice—if he weren’t so damn effective."

Vaas:

"You ever stare into someone's eyes and see nothing? Like the void is smirking at you? Yeah. That’s Xellos. Beautiful bastard."

Pagan Min:

"He’s like me, but less pink. I admire his flair for psychological mischief."

Suguru Geto:

("...He knows more than he lets on.")

Muruko:

"He listens like he’s writing your eulogy. Quiet types like him? Never underestimate 'em."

Kool-Aid Panda:

"Even I can’t bust through his poker face. And I break walls for fun."

Panda:

"Stillness isn’t silence. He’s thinking. Always."

Razor Ramon:

"That dude’s too slick. You shake his hand and suddenly you’re missin’ your wallet and your pride."

Junko:

"He’s a special kind of twisted. My kind. If I ever go quiet, I want him narrating my chaos."

Jerry the Ankle Biter:

"He’s like an invisible leash. You don’t feel it till you try to run. Then it's already too late."

The Clown:

"I see you, smile boy. Keep laughing while I watch the final punchline write itself."
