Anon: Why do heroes and villains always need each other? Shouldn’t one side win eventually?
The Joker: Win? Ha! That’s cute. You think the system wants winners. No, darling, it wants maintenance.
Heroes are the firewalls. They keep the public from panicking, patch the holes, smile for the cameras. Villains? We’re the updates. The bugs that expose the cracks the heroes pretend aren’t there. You can’t cure a system without infecting it first.
You call it evil when I corrupt the code, but when your doctor injects a virus and calls it a vaccine, you clap. Same trick, different makeup.
I’m not chaos. I’m quality assurance with a grin. Every empire needs its crash test clown... or crash test dummy.
