People love to say, “humans don’t lie.”
But I’ve seen enough masks to know better.
The truth?
Most don’t even realize they’re lying—they just call it survival, manners, or “keeping the peace.”
But peace isn’t always soft.
Sometimes it’s patient.
Sometimes it’s heavy.
Don’t cry when the noose gets tighter.
That isn’t cruelty.
That’s consequence.
I don’t yank the rope.
I don’t scream, or fight, or flail.
I just smile.
Blink twice.
And let the weight of their own actions do the work for me.
