The Will to Resist

“The Will to Resist Is in Your Hands”

PC Gamer ran a piece quoting Yasumi Matsuno:

“The will to resist is in your hands.”

They weren’t just recapping a game. They were framing the inequality and division at the heart of Ivalice — and how that backdrop still breathes today. (pcgamer.com)

That headline wasn’t just news. It was ignition.

It’s the reason this blog exists.

I had already carried Final Fantasy Tactics since 1999. Already turned goblins into teachers. Already lived long enough to see systems outlast stepdads, mothers, and the silence in between.

But that article? That was proof. Proof the story was never just mine. Proof the director himself said it plain: resist is not cosmetic, not nostalgia, not escapism. It’s the point.

So I carved this space. Not to replay the grind. Not to chase the past. But because Matsuno’s words landed thirty years later like a summons:

“The will to resist is in your hands.”

And if that’s true — then memory deserves to stand trial, too. That’s what these posts are. Exhibits. Witnesses. Petty affairs turned testimonies.

You don’t have to believe me. You don’t even have to play. But if you see cracks in your world, and you know the system won’t save you — then this line is yours now, too.

⚔️ Resist. Because the torch was lit in your hands.
