They’ll Never Learn
People say it’s human nature. “We make mistakes. We learn.”
But if that were true, we wouldn’t be here again. Another round of layoffs. Another round of “AI will save us.” Another CEO walking away richer while the ones who actually built the damn thing pack their desks.
Mistakes teach. But only if you feel the pain. And the ones at the top never do. Their parachutes are golden, their lessons are padded. They don’t crash—they glide to the next throne.
So no, it’s not just “human error.” It’s a cycle. A rigged game that ensures the same bad calls get made again and again, because the people making them never bleed.
Iwata proved it didn’t have to be this way. He cut his own pay, not his staff. He remembered humanity. And he died too soon, leaving the rest of us staring at an industry that would rather burn its workers than break its habits.
I’d rather be wrong. I’d rather believe people are just clumsy, just human, just stumbling toward better.
But the truth? They’ll never learn. Because the system makes sure they don’t have to.
